2. Important Days
In this note we share the most important days in South Korea, which are: -New Year's Day: On this day the first day of the year is celebrated according to the GREGORIAN calendar, this day is January 1, This day many things are done, food, parades, traditional dances, shows of all kinds and almost the whole country rests.
-Seollal: This party is done according to the lunar calendar, this is not an important day, but 3 days and during these days all shops remain closed. The celebration consists of gathering the whole family with the intention of carrying out ancestral rites to commemorate their ancestors, decked out in their traditional costumes or hanbok.
-Liberation Day: August 15 commemorates the liberation from Japanese occupation in 1945 and the creation of the Republic of Korea three years later. At noon, in the city of Seoul, the mayor and famous people who have fought for independence ring the bell of the Bosingak Pavilion as a tribute to the leading figures of the liberation movement.
